The existing setup no longer supported the need for simple and scalable product data management. VIKING Fire & Rescue was using an existing digital platform to manage product information for the web, but the solution had been designed for a broader purpose than the company actually needed. While the need was for a dedicated setup to structure, enrich, and publish product data, the task was supported by a solution that was more complex than necessary.
At the same time, there was a lack of strong alignment between product master data in SAP and the commercial product data needed for catalogs and digital channels. This made workflows more manual and increased the risk of errors and inconsistent product information across channels.
The result was more manual maintenance, a higher risk of errors, and a weaker foundation for working efficiently with product enrichment and publishing. For VIKING Fire & Rescue, the objective was therefore to establish a stronger foundation that could support daily operations, scaling, and a more efficient way of working with product information.
We helped VIKING Fire & Rescue establish Struct PIM as a dedicated workspace for commercial product data, catalogs, and enrichment. SAP remains the source of product master data, while Struct consolidates and supports the ongoing work of enriching, structuring, and publishing product information. An integration layer ensures a more controlled flow of data between the systems without making them unnecessarily dependent on each other.
As a result, VIKING Fire & Rescue gained a PIM setup that is better suited to the specific task and provides a stronger foundation for working systematically and with less friction on product data across channels and markets.
